The
Host name to use is ftp.norcom2000.com, your user Id is your login name
and the password is your login password.
If
you have requested a directory other than your login name then you may
have to change to that directory. WSFTP can be setup to open to any directory
under users.
You
should find it easier to create your web page while you are not connected.
The main or home page should be called index.htm, other pages should also
use the .htm and not the .html extension. The .htm file extension is typically found on
Microsoft Windows based systems and .html is what you would find on a Unix based server. Also note that
some Web generating software adds the full path that it finds for your pages
on your system, look at the source file and verify that all references
are to the file or page only and do not include a path.
You
can tell others that your web page can be accessed by using
www.norcom2000.com/users/"your user name"
If
you do not have an FTP program, you need to get one. WSFTP from Ipswitch
is recommended and can be found at www.ipswitch.com
