These screens of support information are intended for use by Norcom 2000 customers to assist in setting up their computers to browse the Internet and retrieve email. Feel free to print these illustrated instructions if you ever need to re-configure your computer to use Norcom 2000’s services.

E-mail setup in Internet Mail

Click on button > programs > Internet mail

You will get Internet mail configuration setup dialog window for the first time. Press Next button.

Provide your name and E-mail address

Enter POP3 and SMTP Server names.

Enter your E-mail account and password. Password is optional.

If your system using a LAN connection, select first choice.

If you are using an independent system you may select third choice, and you must select your Dial-Up networking connection from the drop down menu.

In the last window press finish button and you can use Internet mail to send and receive E-mails.

Eudora Light Setup

 STEP 1: When you first open Eudora Light, it goes to the Auto Configure screen. Make sure you fill it out like the screen below. Put your username where it says User Name.

    

 

STEP 2: Scroll to the top of the Category and select Getting Started. Type the information you see below. Make sure that Connection Method is selected Winsock.

    

STEP 3: Left click on Personal Info and type the information you see below.

    

 

STEP 4: Left click on Hosts. Type the information you see below. Left click OK at the bottom and your email setup is complete.

    

                       

 

Eudora 5.0 Setup

 Step 1:  Open Eudora 5.0, click on Tools and go to Options.

 

 

Step 2: Left click one time on Getting Started
Type your name in Real name. Type your email address in Return address
Type mail.norcom2000.com in Mail Server. Type your user name in Login Name in lower case letters.
Type mail.norcom2000.com in SMTP Server (Outgoing).

Step 3: Left click one time on Checking Mail.  Make sure Mail Server says mail.norcom2000.com  Make sure your user name is typed where it says Login Name in lower case letters.  The only two boxes that should be checked is Send on check and Save password.

Step 4: Left click one time on Incoming Mail.  Make sure it looks like the screen below.  You might have to uncheck some of the boxes.

Step 5:  Left click one time on Sending Mail.  Make sure the Return address has your full email address in lower case letters.  Make sure SMTP server says mail.norcom2000.com in lower case letters.  All three boxes should be checked.

Step 6:  Scroll down to Internet Dialup and left click on that icon one time. Make sure the first box is checked.  You might have to uncheck some boxes so that your setup looks like the screen below.  Look at Entry and see if it has the name of your dialup connection in there.  If not left click on the drop down arrow and select the correct dialup connection.

Step 7: Click OK at the bottom.  Close Eudora 5.0 and restart your computer. When your computer reboots you can double click on the Eudora icon to send or receive your email.

Windows Outlook Setup

STEP 1:Open Outlook, left click on Tools, then left click on Services. Left click on the Add button. 

    

 

STEP 2:Left click on Internet E-mail, then left click Ok.

    

 

STEP 3: You might have to insert the Microsoft Office CD in your computer. If you are prompted with a screen like the one below, follow the on-screen instructions and proceed to the next step.

    


STEP 4:Left click on theGeneral tab. Left click on Mail Account and type Norcom 2000. Left click on Name and type in your name. Left click E-mail address and type in your email address, type the same in Reply address.

    

 

STEP 5: Left click on the Server tab. Left click on Incoming Mail and type mail.norcom2000.com, put the same in Outgoing mail. Make sure these are all lowercase letters. Left click on Account name and type in your user name. Type your password in Password. Passwords are case sensitive, so make sure you type it exactly. Check Remember password if you do not want to enter it each time you use Outlook. Left click Ok.

    

STEP 6: Left click on Connection. Make sure you have a dot by Connect using my phone line. Make sure the correct dialup connection is selected under Modem. Left click Ok.

    

 

STEP 7: Left click on Advanced. Move the Server Timeout slider all the right to the Long setting. Left click Ok to finish the setup.

    

 

Windows Outlook Express Setup

STEP 1: Open Outlook Express, left click on Tools, then left click on Accounts. Left click on the Add button.

 

STEP 2:Type in a display name. (this does not have to be your email address).
Left click the next button.

 

STEP 3:Enter in your E-mail Address. Left click the Next button.

 

STEP 4: Left click on Incoming Mail and type mail.norcom2000.com, put the same in Outgoing mail. Make sure these are all lowercase letters. Left click on Next button.

STEP 5: Left click on Account name and type in your user name. Type your password in Password. Passwords are case sensitive, so make sure you type it exactly. Check Remember password if you do not want to enter it each time you use Outlook. Left click the Next button.

STEP 6: Left click on Finish.

STEP 7: Left click and select your account Left click on Properties on the right hand side

STEP 8: Left click on the Servers tab Under Outgoing Mail Server click put a put a check in My Server Requires Authentication Click on Apply Click Ok

STEP 9: Left click on the Close button Left click on send and receive. Your E-Mail setup is complete
